Gotta hand to my staff here: the Luling Newsboy often is little more than 8 pages total, which if you back to its historical editions 50/60/ and even 75 years ago, 8 pages is about what she always ran, though admittedly cover a lot more real estate, back in the day.

That we managed to have two back-to-back issues with sports-related stories on six of its pages in one edition and a full eight pages in the other is truly mind boggling. Albeit the larger of the two does contain our fall sports preview.

Still, that’s a lot of sports for a small town, so, once again, fingers crossed…
